Everyone connected with the Nursing Home was delighted with the news that Mrs. Brenda Forty had been awarded an M.B.E. in the New Years Honours List. Brenda has been associated with the Home since it first opened in 1983; she has been involved in fund raising, arranged outings for residents and has served on the Executive and House Management Committees. Following her retirement from Committees some three years ago, she has continued to visit the Home regularly to organise and support social activities such as whist, bridge and dominoes, which the residents enjoy enormously.

Leonard Pulham residents enjoyed a lively Christmas Party with entertainment by ‘Banjovi’ and delicious food served by a willing team of staff and volunteers.
Activities Officer Liz and Head Chef Sharon led the festivities dressed as Father and Mother Christmas!

Leonard Pulham staff had a pre-Christmas celebration this year, when approximately thirty members of staff attended a School Dinners Evening, under the supervision of Headmaster (and our Accountant) Lloyd Harris and Head Prefect (and Activities Officer) Liz Jones.

Head Chef Sharon Grindley proudly displays the Elite Award Certificate awarded to the Leonard Pulham Nursing Home by Aylesbury Vale District Council for achieving five stars on two consecutive occasions under the ‘Scores on the Doors’ Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

Hello and a very warm welcome to our Newsletter, detailing events and activities for the last three months at Leonard Pulham House.
Christmas is approaching very quickly, so we have included all our forthcoming events – we will be putting up reminders on the notice board as well.

“The Nursing Home had an unannounced visit from a C.Q.C. (Care Quality Commission) Inspector on 22nd September – coincidentally, the day of our Annual General Meeting.
We have now received the draft report from the C.Q.C. and are delighted to say that we are compliant with requirements in all areas. The C.Q.C. no longer operate any form of ‘star’ system, so compliance is all that is required. Congratulations are due to all the staff at the Nursing Home”
